Dana Parsons, Independent Sound Engineer
Dana began work in the professional audio industry in 1997. He had just graduated from high school and was working as a stagehand on the local music scene. Dana started mixing local acts and doing monitors for national acts that toured in the area. In 2003, after working for a local sound company for three years, he became an independent sound engineer. Using knowledge he had gained over the previous six years in live audio, he branched out into recording and broadcasting engineering as well. In his now more than 13 years in the audio field, Dana has worked around the world, most recently in Russia with Itzhak Perlman and in Connecticut with Bill Clinton at Yale University’s commencement.
Outside of the audio world, Dana holds a bachelor’s degree in physics and is currently pursuing a master's degree in the same field. While his research does not involve audio, he applies his audio knowledge in his teaching and coursework. He is currently teaching a summer course in physics for non-majors at Northern Arizona University.
