Several features of the Digital / Media / Arts curriculum are designed to support teachers in implementing integrated units and in exploring additional opportunities for curriculum integration.
- Each unit begins by identifying (1) framing questions, which guide student inquiry in and across disciplines, and (2) understandings, which identify the key learning outcomes.
- Unit Overviews, activity introductions, and Teacher's Notes describe the rationale for particular features of the curriculum design.
- Integrated units meet disciplinary content standards and are intended to replace or enrich units in regular academic classes.
- Units can be taught either before or after the related Foundations unit or in a multi-disciplinary team. Academic and Foundations teachers can coordinate schedules and teach the related units as a multi-disciplinary project.
